Founder and Principal, Alberto Ashby Consulting
Andrea Ashby is a nonprofit strategist, grant writer, and development consultant dedicated to supporting mission-driven organizations in their important work. Through Alberto Ashby Consulting, she supports leaders committed to improving our world and creating lasting change both domestically and globally.

Andrea has worked in non-profit for nearly two decades, supporting a variety of organizations in different stages. In addition to consulting, Andrea is the Executive Director of the Razia's Ray of Hope Foundation, Board of Directors for the Love Life Now Foundation, and Vice President of Engagement on the Board of Directors of the Young Non-Profit Professionals Network of Boston. She is a member of the Women in Nonprofit Network, and has led workshops on Ethics in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting on behalf of the Obama Foundation's Girls Opportunity Alliance. Andrea attended University of Massachusetts and is a 2025 Presidential Leadership Scholar.
What Makes Alberto Ashby Consulting Different
After working with many different consultants supporting many different missions, Andrea noticed a perceptible difference in impact between consultants who shared a passion for the mission versus those who brought only technical support. She felt strongly that consultants with a heart for social justice work could better serve organizations working towards a more peaceful and just society for all - and with that belief, she founded Alberto Ashby Consulting.
Andrea has supported organizations working in disability rights, girls' education, violence prevention, food access, animal welfare, among others, all in service of the common goal of improving our world and communities. Andrea’s background in both domestic and international nonprofit leadership brings unique perspective, allowing her to support organizations with nuance, cultural sensitivity, and a clear sense of purpose. Andrea understands firsthand the challenges of managing organizations that balance urgent human needs with limited resources; her guidance incorporates lived experience, integrity, and deep respect for the work of non-profit leaders.
